As we reach the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, it’s worth asking what we have to celebrate about our democracy.

Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Young people in the 21st century are more depressed than any generation in our country’s history. Our infrastructure is falling apart. More children die to gun violence than car crashes and cancer combined. And it’s unclear who’s going to fix any of these issues.

What does the “American Dream” even look like? How can we build that “more perfect union” described by our nation’s founders over two centuries ago?

The Rebuilding America Project is dedicated to answering that question by using media and civic tech to help create a more positive vision for the next 250 years of our country.
